FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before asking any questions:

Please look carefully through the site's pages, past answered questions in #general-help and this page right here! Thank you!

GENERAL

Q: What is "Aurillion"?

A: Aurillion is a semi-open, upgradeable ARPG species open to everyone! Semi-open meaning you're free to make one, but there are rules to making them.

Q: How do I join?

A: Want to join? Great, we'd love to have you! Head on over to this page to learn more!

Q: The site says members start off with 4 MYOs, can I have more?

A: Yes! Each member starts out with 4 FREE MYOS, but there are many ways to get more myo slots and more auri in general.

You can:

  • Purchase MYO slots with Jades or dA points at #the-store on our Discord Server

  • Win MYO slots in events or other activities.

  • Breed auri [Please note Breeding is not available at this time]

  • Transfer an existing OC you have into AU (see the transfer guide)

  • Win or buy special prize auri and donated designs

  • Buy a custom auri [Please note Customs are not available at this time]

Q: What does auri/aurii/aurillion/aurilli mean?

A: Aurillion is the name of the species and the name of the group!Aurilli is the proper plural form of aurillion, however, 'aurillions' and 'aurillion' can also be used. Auri is the name of baby/children aurillion and aurii/auris is the plural of auri!

Here's a nice chart of the terms:

Aurillion - adult & species name

Aurilli - adults

Auri - baby/child

Aurii - babies/children

To learn more about the species check out the Databank tab!

Q: The site says this group is Discord only?

A: Yes! We are fully operational on discord and discord alone, to join the group you must be willing/have a discord account to use! Don't worry though, discord is completely free and pretty easy to get the hang of!

Q: I don't like discord, can I still participate?

A: Unfortunately no! We only operate on discord, if you can't use it you can't join I'm afraid!

Q: I'm leaving the group, what if I don't want to donate my Aurii/Aurilli?

A: We're sorry to see you leave! You don't have to donate your characters in Aurillion to keep them. You can simply just take them with you and do whatever you'd like with them! They're your characters after all!

Q: If I left the group and return, can I resume where I left off? (characters & inventory)

A: Yes, of course as long as you haven't deleted any AU-related artwork! We do not delete any member inventories ourselves!

Can I base my auri off an existing character? (Fan auri)

AYes and no.

If it's someone else's OC no you may not, that's not your character so that wouldn't be allowed here. All characters here should be your own.

If it's a character based on a character from media (book, movie, tv show, etc.) yes; HOWEVER the Auri MUST be different from the "original" and not a carbon copy. Try changing up the colors or only taking parts from the character's personality and design and adding to it to make them unique!

Q: I’m still waiting to be registered/get my auri approved/my notice hasn't gone through/etc.!

A: We apologize for the wait but PLEASE be patient with us. All the staff work as volunteers and have lives outside of the group. We will get to everything eventually, we promise.

Q: Can my first auri be a transfer?

A: Nope! Your first auri must be a MYO! This is to make sure you get a good grasp of the anatomy beforehand.

Q: How do I get a subspecies?

A: Subspecies can primarily be won through events, bought as adopts, or won through contests such as DTAs (draw to adopt), WTAs (write to adopt), & raffles! Other methods to earn subspecies are also in the works, so keep an eye out! ;)

Q: How do I get a pet?

A: Pets are unfortunately under reconstruction, and no new ones can be gained at this moment, we apologize for the inconvenience!

Q: Why are there so many placeholder images, text, etc.?

A: It’s because the site is nowhere near finished. It was released to retire the old, cluttered site and to allow us to fully push off from dA. Over time placeholders and wips will be filled in, but please be patient with us as we do so. If you need an example and can’t find one on-site please ask in the #general-help and we’ll provide one!

UPGRADES

Q: What traits can I apply to auri/babies?

A: Anything under Baby Upgrade banners is available to auri! Anything under Adult Upgrades may be applied to babies if an appropriate upgrade item is used, UNLESS, the upgrade has [ADULT ONLY] in its rules. Special Upgrade pages have their own rules regarding auri-available upgrades.

Please see the Upgrades and Special Upgrades pages first before applying anything to your auri!

Q: Is there any way to get adult-only upgrades on babies?

A: No, not currently.

Q: An upgrade card has a star/stars beside it but it says adult-only. Can I apply it to babies?

A: No, you cannot. [ADULT ONLY] means that upgrade is only available to adults.

Q: What about upgrades with X's?

A: An X means that no upgrade items may be used to get that upgrade. If it doesn't say adult only it can be applied to auri if you get it through an alternative method, such as a prize from an event.

ART & GROUP SUBMISSIONS

Q: Do I just post art into the art galleries?

A: No you must include the following in all art submissions:

  • Bell count. It’s important to count your bells! You need them to upgrade your auri and for other mechanics like Jades as well!

    • Remember, it should look like this [bells earned/new total]

    • It's also recommended to list out how you got your bells too, but this is not required. It does help should a mod need to check your bell count though!

      • ex.
        Fullbodies x2
        Headshot
        Detailed background
        [11/50]

  • Upgrades. You MUST list out any and all upgrades if you are applying any to your auri! If an upgrade is not listed in a piece it will not be recognized as being officially applied!

    • Same goes for removing and changing upgrades, any and all upgrade changes MUST be listed!

  • Upgrade proof. You MUST ALSO provide link proof for any upgrade requirements! This is mandatory as this makes things much easier on mods to make sure upgrade applications are legal and check out.
For bells, you are already required to list your bell count in your descriptions, for age simply link to your auri’s approval, [this is only if your auri was approved on dA! Discord auri are logged on a spreadsheet that we can easily check] for art reqs link to the deviation or post link to the image that satisfies the req.

Lastly, please note that to officially apply anything the upgrade(s) MUST be shown in the image & in full color, this is so we can make sure they're being drawn properly and follow proper color rules.

Q: Can I chat in the art galleries?

A: No! Please keep commentary and conversations about art in #art-chat, #art-chat-2, and the home channels! If you wanna show appreciation for a piece you are also free and encouraged to leave reactions on the piece!

Q: Can I post sketches, wips, etc.?

A: No! The gallery channels are only for finished works! Polished doodles are the only exception, but please know that they can only count for 1 bell, as they are not fully colored works. (this is per doodled character)Ex. 5 doodled auri would net you 5 bells total! If you have a sketch or wip please send them in the designated wip-sharing channels!

Q: I have a lot of art to post, can impose it all at once?

A: Please avoid spamming images! If you have multiple images please compile them into 1 image to avoid spam!

Q: Can I submit art with writing?

A: Depends! If it's short, yes that's fine! But if it exceeds discord's text limits please instead submit the writing to the #literature channel!

Q: Can I just post the whole written thing there then?

A: Depends! If it's short, yes that’s fine! But if it exceeds discord’s text limits please link to a Google docs or pdf, etc. instead! Please do not flood the channel with several long messages!

Q: What goes in #magic-art?

A: Any art used for independent magic learning or skill level art! See the magic page and the magic tabs to learn more! Also please note that this channel only accepts fully colored works! Polished doodles are NOT accepted in this channel.

Q: What goes in #event-art?

A: Art pertaining to any event, like Wildgrowth or the Sweet Tooth Celebration! This is a timed channel and will only be available for submissions when an event is going on! Like with #magic-art polished doodles are NOT accepted in this channel.

Q: Help! I made a mistake and need to fix something! Can I delete a submission and repost a fixed version?

A: Yes! But please note that deleting and reposting resets any date-sensitive things you may be aiming for. Meaning if you delete a post that was posted on December 31st, decided to delete it to fix something, and reposed it on January 1st, the new post date is now January 1st.

Q: I need to fix something but I don't want to delete it/reset the post date. Can I just repost the fix and keep the original post date?

A: Yes you can! Two things to know before you do this though.

  1. Please mark this new fixed submission as "Fixed Submission" or something similar in the new post so that we know that it's not technically new!

  2. This fixed submission cannot be counted for bells again as it's virtually the same submission with minor changes. However, on the off chance that you added, for example, a new fullbody, you may count that new fullbody but nothing else.

Q: Are there any off-limits/restricted topics/themes?

A: Yes.

Restricted topics would be:

  • Gore. Any such art or written work needs to be spoilered and should be submitted in #gore-art! Further, specific warnings are also highly encouraged! Also, should any member request that you spoiler an image, even a none gorey one, PLEASE DO SO. It's simple accommodation and counts as being courteous to other members.

  • Sexual content. Aurillion is a largely pg13 group and we ask that you refrain from any heavily sexual content. Romantic images and relationships are completely fine to depict! Just keep things tasteful, please.

  • Any other heavy/sensitive topic. For example, say you wanted to depict your aurillion experiencing homophobia. That is allowed, as long as you are respectful of the topic. That's the main rule of thumb, as long as you are respectful it is largely allowed.
Do research, and get people knowledgeable in such topics to look over your work to make sure it's such!

Off-limits:

  • Disrespectful handlings of sensitive topics. If staff deems your depiction of a sensitive topic as insensitive and disrespectful you will receive a strike and the offending image(s)/work(s) will be removed effective immediately. If we deem that it was accidental/a misunderstanding you will instead receive a warning along with the removal of the offending submissions.

  • Overtly sexual/blatantly sexual content. This is already hard banned across the group. Offending work will be removed and you WILL be permanently banned for this.

  • The romanticization of abhorrent things. If you depict things like homophobia you are free to do so as long as the ending message is that it’s bad. We have a 0 tolerance policy for support of homophobia, racism, and any other such ideologies. Any such works that are deemed explicitly supportive of these will be removed and you risk being kicked from the group. You are free to appeal that it’s a misunderstanding but if found guilty you will earn at least a warning, and at most be removed from the group permanently.

  • Explicitly pedophilic, incestuous, or otherwise abhorrent romantic relationships. While we do allow somewhat darker topics to be explored, (abuse, homophobia), topics such as pedophilia, incest, bestiality, necrophilia, are completely OFF-LIMITS. Depictions of such are not allowed at all and are grounds for immediate termination if discovered.

    • Pedophilia would be depicting an auri and an adult in a romantic relationship.

    • Incest includes ALL incest. If you or mechanics consider the aurilli in question as being related, either by blood or not that is incest. This is not up for debate.

    • Bestiality would be depicting an aurilli and a pet, mount, wildlife, or plant in a romantic relationship.

    • Necrophilia would be depicting an aurilli in a romantic relationship with a corpse.
